The Houston Area Women's Center serves thousands of women, children and families each year escaping domestic violence, sexual assault or sex trafficking. We help survivors transform their lives, free from violence. Because of their courage, we are convinced that this crisis can and must be stopped.

Our Mission Statement:

The Harris County District Attorney's Office is dedicated to making our community safer through evidence-based prosecution and equal justice for all.  This means guaranteeing a fair process to obtain a just result for the victim, the accused and the community in every case. 

HCDAO is guided by a core set of principles that shape policy change and resulted in the implementation of new program initiatives. Because difficult decisions arise every day during the administration of justice, the District Attorney and her staff rely upon these principles in seeking fair and equal justice for the people of Harris County.

The Harris County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council (HCDVCC) is an accredited 501(c)(3) organization serving the Harris County area.

HCDVCC is guided by charity, safety, honesty, & respect.

We create collaborations that: increase DV victim safety, hold perpetrators of DV criminally accountable, and maximize community resources.

Our Mission
To improve Harris County's response to domestic violence, we lead efforts to build collaborative systems and innovative programs that increase access to services and safety.

Our Vision
We envision a community where all persons have relationships that are safe, healthy, and free from domestic violence.

24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, the National Domestic Violence Hotline provides essential tools and support to help survivors of domestic violence so they can live their lives free of abuse.

Contacts to The Hotline can expect highly-trained, expert advocates to offer free, confidential, and compassionate support, crisis intervention information, education, and referral services in over 200 languages.

The Texas Legislature, recognizing the need for identification of victims of crime and citizens who suffer personal injury or death in the prevention of crime of the apprehension of criminals, established the CRIME VICTIMS COMPENSATION ACT to ease the financial and emotional burdens suffered by innocent victims. The Crime Victims Assistance Unit provides services such as Criminal Justice Support, assistance in applying for Crime Victim's compensation, legal aid and financial assistance.
