HCCSCD is in the process of developing a new Case Management System (CMS) which will replace our current JIMS 2 case management system.
The new Case Management System is a single solution that will transform our work with clients and stakeholders. The system will allow us to capture work as we use the system, which in turn, will assist in streamlining processes, ensure consistency for all staff and clients, and provide an opportunity for us to spend more time cultivating relationships with our peers, clients, and stakeholders.
Overview of the system
- Single entry for all staff
- Reduces our work from 26 unique databases, websites, and 3rd party systems to one single entry point for all staff
- Integrated solution to what we do
- The CMS is designed to be used to drive our work flow, capturing the work as we go instead of a secondary documentation system
- Our core functions will be integrated into the software solution, allowing us to manage work flow more effectively
- Single system for all staff
The system will be functional for all areas of our staff. It is a single portal for CSO activity, counselors, assessors, courts, and treatment services
The tentative go live date for the new CMS is February 2018.
New Atascocita Community Corrections Facility
The Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (HCCSCD), Community Corrections Facility (CCF), Substance Abuse Treatment Facility (SATF) is located at 2310 1/2 Atascocita, Humble, Texas 77396. The facility opened in 1991 and was originally designed as a military style boot camp. HCCSCD replaced the boot camp with a treatment facility in 2004 after determining the camp to be ineffective.
The current 24-acre CCF, SATF complex consists of metal buildings, white dorm tents and an unused ropes course. The plans are to tear down and rebuild the current facility and move and merge the downtown Peden Substance Abuse and Treatment Facility with the new complex. This will allow HCCSCD to increase its treatment bed capacity from 630 to 1,000 beds.
Since the current HCCSCD male and female programs share many common elements such as administration offices, visitation areas, laundry facilities, a clinic, interior recreation, kitchens and dining area, the most efficient facility layout would have access to shared use of these components, in a controlled manner. The male and female populations will be separated by buildings. Common elements will be located along a central spine that separates the male and female dormitory and outdoor spaces.
Tentatively projected for July 2018.
